Many people who travel in to the UK worry about what to expect from the weather. There are great ways that you can prepare for the UK weather. Basically it can be unpredictable so it is a good idea to pack for warm and cold weather and for wet and dry. If you are travelling in the winter then you will need lots of layers and good shoes in case it snows and waterproofs. In the summer you will need sunblock but also waterproofs as it is often wet. It may mean that you have to pack more than you expect to and so you will need to make sure that you have made provision for the extra bags. It may be necessary to change your plans for when you land to accommodate this.

This may be a better option than taking a bus or train or a lift with family or friends because they may not have room for the luggage or it may be difficult carrying it about. If the weather is not good then you will be able to keep dry rather than waiting at bus stations or platforms where you will get cold and wet. There is limited room on trains and buses for luggage and shifting it can be hard work. A taxi could be an alternative but there is no beating the freedom of having a hire car and you will be able to use it for your whole trip.
