Luton Airport Arrivals

Airports in the UK are very easy to arrive into, if you don’t take the strict passport control area into account! If you are picking up family and friends from Luton Airport you can simply log on to the Luton Airport website and look under the arrivals tab on the homepage to see when flights have landed or when they are due to land. This makes the whole picking up process much easier as you can be at the airport for precisely the right time which means less waiting for you, the person picking someone up, and, perhaps more importantly, less money spent in expensive short stay car parking bays! Luton Airport really has flown (excuse the pun) into the 21st century – a few years ago you would have to get to the airport at the time you were told the flight was going to land, and it could often be delayed leaving you waiting around for the flight for many hours. Sometimes the flights were also early and you’d get that call whilst you were sitting at home waiting to set off saying “Hi Mum, hi Dad – the flight was early, I’m sitting outside the airport and it’s freezing!”

If you do end up early than your pickup time however, you can quite easily find something to do with an amusement arcade available. There are also plenty of payphones and internet access is available. If you’re hungry, you can also easily find yourself something to eat no matter what sort of food you’re into.

Luton Airport Departures

The departures lounge at Luton is very plush – it has all the amenities you would expect from any big, international airport such as this. Once you have checked in and gone through your security checks, you are free to roam and buy whatever you want from there. Newsagents are available should you want to buy some sweets for the trip or your last English newspaper before you are carted off into a foreign language where you can also guess at the language! There are also cafes available to buy hot drinks – perhaps you need a coffee to keep you awake after the long journey, or even a tea to calm your nerves after a stressful trip to get there!

If you need some serious fun with your family or friends, you should look to visit the amusement arcade – the perfect way to burn loads of cash playing pointless games. There is a gambling section for over 18s, or an area for games that would appeal to young children, and everything in between. In the departure lounge you will also find a huge wireless internet network allowing you to connect up your laptop and surf the web. This is particularly useful if you are going on a business trip and need to check your emails before you get up in the air – payphones are available in multiple locations should you find something important in your emails and need to call someone! One nice idea for those people who would like to forget about the busy atmosphere of the airport is the executive departures lounge. This area allows anyone to enter for the nominal fee of £11.50 for one hour, or £18.50 for two hours.
