We are now getting to the part of the year where there are many more flights heading out every day. In the winter, with such events as Christmas, fewer people go on holiday so there aren’t as many flights on offer; it is more of a family time and our primal instincts kick in a certain amount – when it is cold we tend to regress into our own homes to try and hold out until the warm weather returns. However, now that the sun has begun to come out of its slumber and it is beginning to get a bit warmer, we are bringing out the shorts and tee shirts, slapping on the sun cream and heading out to an assortment of exotic locations to soak up the sun. Especially with the volcano still rumbling; we want to get a holiday in whilst the calm has returned!
Today, at Luton airport, there are numerous flights heading out. Numerous locations in Europe of course; there are flights to Paris, Pisa and Murcia, full of people who are trying to reconnect with our European neighbours. There are also many flights to more unusual locations such as Warsaw, Tel Aviv and Budapest. There aren’t so many internal flights, but you can fly to Jersey or Galway if you want to stay close but still go on holiday! As summer rolls in, the number of flights will begin to increase and your choice of destinations will be greatly enhanced; ready for a fantastic holiday!

Many people are afraid of flying. The whole idea of being strapped into a piece of metal that is hurtling through the air (at tens of thousands of feet) seems to defy all of our senses; how can something so big and heavy fly? Whilst many are able to see this at face value and accept the situation; just realise that it works and to run with it, there are some who find it a terrifying experience and one that requires all the will power in the world to undertake (and if you see the aforementioned way of describing how people fly, who can blame them?). Of course, you can make yourself fly if you want to enough and for people who have a fear of flying, it can be a necessary evil for a good holiday, yet the whole experience is made much worse by stress. If, on top of the stress that is being felt about flying, you are stressed about whether you make the flight, the effects can be disastrous in terms of setting foot on the plane.
The main reason people fear missing the flight is because they drive down on the day; tempting fate as it is likely that events will transpire to result in you being stuck in traffic for much longer than expected. So why put yourself through this hassle when you can stay in one of the fantastic hotels close to the airport – no traffic means catching your plane and results in less stress!
